Dipra Engineers (Pvt. Ltd)., had been able to supply, install and commission five units (3 bed lifts and 2 passenger lifts) of elevators to the proposed Sri Lanka Navy Hospital in Welisara. The cost of the elevator that was supplied had been valued at over US$ 150,000 (Rs. 20m) and all units had been handed over and is in use, said Managing Director of Dipra Engineers, Dinesh Dammika Anton.
The hospital which had been built at a cost of over Rs. 1.2 billion, consisting 250 beds, contains four floors while the project concept is being done under the guidance of Defence Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by Ex Navy Commander, M. Dissanayaka.
This state - of- the - art project, has being designed and built by the Navy, with the aim of improving healthcare facilities of the naval personnel and their family members. In future, it would be open to the public at very concessionary rates.
Dipra Engineering, recently became the first company in Sri Lanka to obtain ISO certification - ISO in material handling. The company is also planning to set up a passenger elevator factory with direct investment from their China elevator manufacturer,

“We started our hoist manufacturing business in 1999 and diverted to many field such as supply, installation and commissioning of Industrial Boilers, all types of Passenger Elevators, EOT Cranes, Hydraulic Lifters, Dock Levellers, Construction Hoists, Dockyard Ship building and Shed Travellers. Sofar we have installed and in operation more than 1,500 units throughout the island and overseas.”
